Academy Xi teaches short, practical skill-specific courses in design, and emerging technology. As well as being a lifetime learning hub, we’re driven by a great purpose: Xi Act - Our Social Impact pillar. With our vision to change the world through education, we collaborate and partner with great organisations who have an underlying purpose: to create positive change. This year alone we have partnered and ran successful projects and initiatives with the following organisations -
TechReady Women: A training scholarship fund for female founders.
Girls In Tech: Partnership and sponsorship events that are held twice yearly. This year, we’re running workshops and offering a scholarship.
Code Like a Girl: Partnership and training scholarships for women of all ages who are in tech or interested in becoming technologists.
Tech4Good: 15 NFPs in a Digital Transformation program. This includes NFPs working with deaf and blind youth, youth living with autism, and Indigenous Australians, just to name a few. Namely, we have had deaf students involved in this program and have made all resources both online and offline accessible to them.
Isobar: Training scholarship for Indigenous Youth. Isobar, working with Xi is committed to diversity and inclusion by providing employment opportunities for Indigenous Youth.
Techfugees: Ongoing partnership and training scholarships for refugees focussed on using tech to solve problems that asylum seekers are experiencing.
Vision Australia: We’re currently working on a partnership with VA that will see world class content being developed for those living with visual impairment
Diversity is embraced within our organisation through our 4 core values:
Create Exceptional Experiences: We personalise every interaction, touchpoint, and conversation — creating an exceptional experience for our community. How do we do that? By offering expert support, empathy, understanding, and insight.
Build Community: We’re here to connect our tribe: engaging our students, our partners, our instructors, and our team. No matter what we work on day-to-day, we’re also acting in service to our community so that we can change the world together.
Generate Impact: We’re passionate about what we do. Not only are we accountable for our responsibilities, but we proactively transcend beyond them, because even the smallest contribution creates a ripple. We measure our impact, we get things done, and we know our great work is never over.
Empower the Tribe: We’re empathetic, patient, and perceptive: all of the best qualities of a supportive tribe. We’re authentically unique in our differences and our capabilities, but we unite in our mission.
The one thing that ties all of our initiatives together is partnerships. Without our partners, we would not be able to do the work that we do. We also have a dedicated member of the team who owns that partnership and ensures it is a long term engagement creating sustainable change.
Refer to the last question
We classify as an EduTech company - Education and Technology. The tech industry is still predominantly white, male, and physically/mentally able. The resistance we face is in encouraging minority groups to take the plunge in to the Tech world. Our initiatives are always incredibly well received in the industry, and that's why we continue to do more and more work in the diversity and inclusion space.
All of our initiatives are part of long term engagements and partnerships.

The major outcomes have been employment for people from disadvantaged backgrounds. This is everything we work towards - making our courses accessible to all, and then creating employment opportunities.
The Academy Xi Leadership team inspires me. Our company is built on diversity. Every single member of our Leadership Team identifies with an incredibly diverse range of sexualities and genders, ages, cultural backgrounds and ethnicities, etc. Literally - not a single one of us comes from the same background. This brings diverse perspectives to every decision we make, and consequently leads to inclusive and powerful outcomes.
