Im a huge advocate for equality- for all not just women. I designed a fresh approach to a recruitment business model www.reesby.com.au, I specifically specialise in recruiting Women in IT, helping them secure better roles, higher paid salaries and assist them with career advice. I volunteer my time to run Melbournes largest IoT Meetup and was just today identified by LinkedIN as the 14th most influential linkedin profile across australia and new zealand, higher than david koch! I was appointed the vice-chair for the victorian engineering and IT Expo and got FITT and ACS onboard to be present to encourage young girls, and I'm looking to launch a new networking event called GIRLS GO FOR I.T!
Lots and lots of phone calls. Seriously. Lots of data usage- lots of linked posts. Helping women across australia negotiate salaries, open up doors to new opportunities, and get involved with the females in tech networks across australia wherever possible. Helping graduates steer their career in the right direction
I lost interest in my job as I felt like 'another number', Left, I built my own website from scratch, and really just simply my passion for equality got me to where I am. Attended all the events and networking events. Im still growing and absolutely loving it.
So far working with some big bluechip clients who are looking to get more diversity among their teams and trying to place the strongest female technical talent to my clients. It is a challenge though as many companies have panels and IT
I feel like a small fish in a very big male dominated pond, and its hard to tap into all women and would love a wider network to really access all females in the IT space. Iv lost a few deals, Had to learn how to right up contracts, learn how to build a website, lots of lessons along the way.
